Instructions for Authors

Submission

Papers must be formatted using the ACM template and follow the formatting guidelines adopted by the main conference (ICMI 2026 Call for Papers).

Workshop papers of up to 4 pages, excluding references, will be considered Short Papers. Papers of up to 8 pages, excluding references, will be considered Long Papers.

All submissions must follow the double-column ACM conference format. Pages containing only references do not count toward the page limit. Papers must be submitted in PDF format and prepared for double-blind review.

Accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and included in the ICMI companion proceedings.

Submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts. Work that has already been published should not be submitted unless it contains significant new contributions beyond the previous publication.

Submit through the ICMI 2026 PCS portal . After signing in, select SIGCHI → ICMI 2026 → ICMI 2026 Workshop: Beyond a Concrete: Grounding Abstract Concepts in Multimodal Interaction, and then click Go.
